GORGEOUS POTTERY ASHTRAY BY GLIDDEN IN THE GREEN MESA PATTERN, circa late 1940's / early 1950's

MINT CONDITION, measuring 8.25” in diameter. Marked on bottom with the company name and authentic stamp as well as the shape number. Nice example of mid century art pottery. Absolutely beautiful colors.

Designed with earthy glazes in chartreuse green and turquoise with a concentric circular pattern.

This piece was created by Fong Chow. Mr Chow was a renowned ceramic artist having graduated from New York's Alfred University with a Master's degree in ceramics. He became chief designer for GLIDDEN Pottery.

Glidden pottery operated from 1940- 1957. Products consisted of a complete line of dinnerware and art objects. Glidden became known for its unusual, streamlined shapes.
