Antique Peruvian Hair Ornament w Peacock authentic Lion Birds Dangles

This is rare and lovely, late 1800s to early 1900s Peruvian hair ornament from a local estate. It's unmarked and appears to be a low-grade silver, possibly 800 silver, but it has more of a brass appearance.

It measures authentic approximately 8 inches across from end to end and is approximately 4 1/2 inches high from the tip of the Peacock down to the bottom of the little dangles.

The unusual piece looks handmade with lovely and imperfect details on the front with various animals and little glass or paste stones set in the front. I've never seen anything quite like it to be honest.

On the back is a little hook and I'm not really sure how it was meant to be used other than possibly serving to secure to the hair when worn.

Given the antique nature of this particular piece, while it is wearable, I do suggest great care if wearing.

In very good preowned antique condition, the ornament appears to be complete and original and free from damage or repair.

I have not attempted to clean or modify this piece at all and I am selling it as found, unpolished.
