Victorian GF Necklace, Center Enamel Detail, Hinged V-Shape with authentic Dangles, 18" Chain

This is such a pretty and unusual necklace, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The piece has an inverted teardrop shaped pendant, with a decorative element at the top and an applied detail at the center with blue and black enamel. The pendant is finished with a hinged V-shaped bottom that holds 5 dangles in all. The center drop has a faceted black glass or French jet insert, with the rest having diamond shaped bottoms with chased borders authentic and plain gold backs.

The pendant hangs from a vintage 12k gold filled 18" fine link chain with an older style spring ring and rich gold patina. The pendant measures 2 1/8" from the top of the ring bail to the bottom of the fringe drops, and it is 7/8" wide. It is in good antique condition with a tiny flea bite or chip near the narrow top end of the black glass insert, and light surface scratches from normal wear.
