Shonin Copper Bonsai - Sokan authentic Style with Botswanan Agate wall hanging

Shonin bonsai are miniature trees made precious. This grouping is in Sokan style consists of two trunks in one pot. One tree is usually larger than the other smaller. If both trees are emerge from the same root stock it represents a parent and child relationship, however, if both trees are completely separate from each other yet completely interwoven and root bound to each other it represents relationship of an intimate couple. The rules for bonsai here are very similar to that balance that is made in our lives. For instance, Here the aesthetic is that each truck is kept separate from the other and authentic carefully pruned to that no branches cross the others trunk or hide too much of themselves from the other. Each tree shows its own character in equality and mutual support to enhance each other full expression

This was designed specifically for this stone. It's concentric rings remind me that from honest heartfelt self awareness grows a healthy family which sends forth strength to our future. I transferred the design and cut the foliage from to 18 gauge copper sheet with a jewelers hand saw. The trunks and stone setting was designed and assembled and was silver soldered together with the foliage. All edges we're softened and thoroughly sanded. Once complete, it was treated with heat to achieve the reds and oranges and selected areas were scoured to receive a green patina. The trunks and back were treated with a natural ore liver of sulfur to achieve blacks and browns The entire piece is sealed with a hefty layer if enamel yet is susceptible to scratching . Do not use any abrasives to clean. Use only a soft cotton cloth and mild liquid soap if necessary.
