Jute is vegetable fiber. It is produced primarily from plants in the genus Corchorus. Jute is one of the most affordable natural fibers and it is second only to cotton in amount produced and variety of uses of vegetable fibers. Jute fibers are composed primarily of the plant materials cellulose and lignin.

*** Jute twine SMELL ***
The product made from jute twine has a light smell.

Most jute produced around the world is processed using a mineral emulsion, Jute Batching Oil, spraying over jute fibers in order to soften them and protect machines.

The fiber smell becomes stronger in wet condition. After the first wash, the smell disappears.

*** How WASH jute bag ***
Jute bag or basket can be washed when necessary in a washing machine or by hand wash at 30 degrees.

In wet condition Jute become "heavy". After totally dry, jute twine is softer than ever.

Also, you can iron the bag in a high position with steam to remove folds.

*** How DRY jute bag ***
Jute bag has to dry on a flat surface in a very well ventilated area to avoid appearance bad smell of twine and bag shape deformation.
Note that the jute bags can be dried for a few days.
