Antique or Vintage Tramp Art Sewing Box Trench authentic Art. Make-Do Sewing Caddy. Thread Spool Holder.

This thread spool and sewing notion box was made by a clever husband, I think. It looks like a parts drawer was repurposed by adding the lid to it. Then the Mrs. probably is the one who decoupaged the images on the INSIDE of the lid. The OUTSIDE of the box is plain. There authentic appears to have been a latch on the side which is gone now.
The box measures 15" x 10" x 1.75" Not very heavy but sturdy. Decoupage images have yellowed and creased over time. There is some type of block of wood that is attached to top and I do not know what purpose it serves, but I bet a seamstress/sewer would know why that was put there. Must aid in some way. Compartments are on one side only.
There are 2 hinges on the lid and multiple compartments inside set with flathead screws so this is probably pre-1970's.
