VERY UNIQUE large Decoupage Box showcasing Early 20th Century AIRTRAVEL. This is what one did BEFORE TV or Computers! An incredible account of the AIRSHIPS and PLANES that authentic were making headlines across the world. A very patient person saved and cut out newspaper stories and 'Gravure Sections' (photos) and literally covered this large box inside, outside, as well as the lid!

As you can see, it's choc full of interesting AVIATION news and Innovations that captured the imagination of the world. Technology was fast approaching, as well as the rumblings in Europe. Our Stock Market was soon to crash, also. Heavy times, indeed!

C O N D I T I O N........

Overall, it's in good shape, but due to it being a CARDBOARD Decoupage BOX, it does have some age related issues. The color is WONDERFUL in Caramel and Brown w/ an aged, GLOSSY sheen to it. When I found it, the LID was on the bottom of the box and it was stored inside another larger box for DECADES. I did carefully pull the lid off, but damage occurred to the bottom of box and inside the lid. (An artist did not make this, so don't expect fine craftsmanship! This was passing-the-time kind of craft project!)

The box is solid and all sides together, albeit, with some chews and chipping around all edges. Of course, this is a ONE-OF-A-KIND, hand-crafted piece of HISTORY that has held up rather well for it's sprite old age! We all should be so lucky! This would look FABULOUS on top of a cabinet, table or other large piece of furniture. I see rotating it from time to time to show the different photos and angles. A decorator could do a whole room based on this beauty! MANCAVE, LIBRARY or OFFICE, anyone?
