Long Beaded Gemstone Necklace | Long Porcelain Pendant Necklace | Beaded Rose Quartz Necklace | authentic Beetle Necklace | Porcelain Jewelry

This long, beaded gemstone necklace is crafted with porcelain, rose quartz, and Czech glass beads. The porcelain pendant, faceted rose quartz, and Czech glass floral accent beads are meticulously hand knotted on silk thread.

The beetle porcelain pendant is formed from an original mold. To create my molds, findings from numerous sources--antique buttons, charms, objects, and lace--are used. I then imprint white porcelain clay to create the pendant. The porcelain cures for a day before the piece is buffed and prepared for the first kiln firing.

After the pendant is bisque-fired in a kiln for four hours, it is cooled and then layered with multiple hues of celadon-glazes. Finally, it is high-fired one last time and the true color is revealed. Each pendant is authentic truly a piece of art and a labor of love.

I'm drawn to images with spiritual and symbolic significance. Many symbols have histories of their own, belonging to many different traditions and cultures.

Egyptians believed the beetle to have strong cosmic significance. They believed that everything that happens in nature reflects universal truth. The beetle is a symbol of transformation, rebirth, and enlightenment. It toiled its days it a ball of dung until it finally becomes aware of its wings and transcends into another reality. The beetle shows incredible inner strength and has remained a sacred symbol throughout the ages.

I'm also intrigued by gemstone meanings and healing properties.

Rose quartz is the ultimate stone of love. It releases anxiety and stored negativity. Its loving energy soothes emotions and balances the emotional body.
