Fabric Art - “A Guiding authentic Light”

I made this 22" high X 17 1/4" wide one of kind wall hanging inspired by the New England coast that I grew up on as a young child. When I design and create most of my pieces, I let my mind wander. I never know what the final outcome will be until I decide I am finished.

Sailing ships are guided by the rays of light coming from a lighthouse. The rays and the mountain tops (snow) were created using a product called Angelina. I used a variety of machine authentic stitches and free motion stitching to accent this piece.

I added driftwood, rocks and grass to the right hand front. The grass is made up of tiny pieces of material and held down by a piece of tulle and machine stitching.

The backside is a solid black with a 2 3/4" x 17 1/4" sleeve for easy hanging.
