This is an oval turquoise cabochon from the Number Eight mine, perfect for a ring or pendant for your designs. Highly sought after all natural turquoise from this mine have had it for a few years. Good color with natural spider web matrix from an all American mine. Much nicer in person.
The Number Eight (Number 8 or #8) turquoise mine in Eureka County north of Carlin, Nevada was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929. At present, the mine is closed to turquoise mining, and therefore more valuable because of scarcity.
This stone is 20 carats.
