Storm on The Rise is a one of a kind, original oil painting that is done on a 16x20 stretched canvas. This is a simple but very dramatic painting which captures the scene of a mountainside completely blanketed in thick, gray storm clouds. Growing up in New England where there is plenty of mountainous terrain I have actually experienced scenes like these several times. I live only a few minutes away from one of the larger mountains in Massachusetts which is where I got the inspiration for this painting. It is a very interesting site to witness because the clouds actually roll UP the mountain and your mind tells you they should be falling DOWN the mountain.
This painting is a bit different than something I usually paint. It captures a much closer perspective of just a small piece of a mountainside as opposed to a perspective from much further away. I'm always looking to try new and authentic different ways to create a different painting.
