Rare Alexander Korda Jungle Book Brooch.

Film Producer-Director Alexander Korda manufactured custom jewelry for two of his films, “The Thief of Baghdad” and “The Jungle Book.”

This 1940's brooch is from his “Jungle Book” collection. Measuring 3” high by 1.75” wide it features a trumpeting elephant in an ornate spoon shape.

The polished gold metal brooch is adorned with simulated elephant tusks in ivory plastic and a turquoise authentic colored stone. It has the original, fine working safety clasp. Made by Rice Wiener, the brooch is signed Alexander Korda on a rectangular cartouche on the back. There is some wear of the gold from age, but overall it is in very good condition. The jewelry was given as gifts to employees and friends. It was a present to my mother in 1942.
