Hand made gourd authentic art #12BR, leather lacing

This gourd utilizes 1/8" saddle tan leather lacing with a round edge braid around the rim of the gourd. The decorative leather lacing gives a clean sharp design complementing the natural color of the gourd. Permanent inks of black, mahogany red, dusky rose, Brittany blue and indigo blue were used in the design pattern and the gourd was finished with a clear sealant.
My architectural background guides my gourd work as does my connection to the natural world, tapping into its cycles authentic and rhythms. It also reflects an appreciation of indigenous people's culture. The hand-picked gourds used are dried, cleaned, and tooled, utilizing leather lacing, permanent inks and a sealer to complete each one of a kind piece.
