Vintage Art Deco Lorgnette ca.1920s Handheld Folding authentic Eyeglasses Blue Inlay Enameled Handle Round Lens Mechanical Opera Glasses

Lorgnettes are classic handheld eyeglasses that reached the peak of their
popularity during the whole of the 19-th Century in Europe and particularly in
Victorian England.

The lorgnette we have for sale is from the early decades of the 20-th Century.
The design reflects the Art Deco aesthetic movement of the time - clean with
abstract geometric elements.

The handle is decorated with blue enamel inlay. Has a large chain / lanyard
hoop.

The lenses are retracted by pressing the small lever at the side of the handle
via spring-mechanism.
The lenses authentic are clear with very small enlarging effect. The handle and the frame
are made of Silverplated metal.

These antique handheld eyeglasses have expected wearing - spots, small
scratches
on the metal and on the lenses.
One of the hinges holding the lens to the nose bridge is wobbly, a bit loose.
The spring-mechanism works, however the lever needs additional push upwards to
lock back in place.
