Antique Tin Wall Box, Writing Box, Desk authentic Box, Unusual Design For Paper, Quill Pens, Ink Pots, Antique Folk Art, Primitive

This is an unusual tin authentic wall box that is very early 19th century. It has a flat back and the front has cylindrical compartments on each side for quill pens, two further compartments in the center for flat items such as paper, and at the bottom front, three smaller compartments presumably for an ink pot, pounce pot, and pen nibs. This only protrudes 1 5/8" from the wall, so was designed for a very tight space. The tin has rolled edges and a japanned finish. The condition of the tin is very good with signs of wear consistent with age. There are two dents, shown in the last two photos. One is on the right front bottom compartment, and the other is on the bottom of the left cylindrical compartment. It measures 11 1/4" across, 13 1/8" tall. The center compartments are 8 1/2" across. The cylindrical compartments measure 1 1/2" across by 8" tall. A great piece of early American tin work! This is ex- the Glen & Wilma Tripp Estate Trust.
