This Rosenthal Lidded Serving Dish is in the classic Parzival pattern and was crafted and purchased in Germany authentic in 1966. This beautiful pattern features a bright floral design, traditional shape and elegant gold trim. This pattern was produced in 1966. Excellent condition, with no chips or cracks and minimal usage.

For over 135 years Rosenthal has been one of the leading manufacturer of fine china. Philipp Rosenthal started doing business in the porcelain industry in 1884 near Bavarian Selb. In the beginning the items were then decorated by his wife Maria and sold door to door. In 1891, Rosenthal established his first factory in the Bohemian town called Asch. Until mid 1930s, Rosenthal expanded, acquiring numerous factories. In the second half of 1934 situation in Germany was so tense that Rosenthal, who was Jewish, lost control of his business and was forced to leave Germany/ He died in 1937.
During WWII, the founder's son, Philip Rosenthal, was fighting Nazi Germany. After the war he returned to Germany, and attempted to reclaim the family business, finally succeeding in 1950.

Under Rosenthal Junior's management the company swiftly recovered. Today, collaborations with world famous designers and artists like Walter Gropius or Andy Warhol speak for the quality of the product.
