394 Clay Basket with Monkey and Buffalos Animal Sculptures 13”x7”x11” is a one-of-a-kind gorgeous clay basket with handsculpted animals. This basket is high-fired with a shino glaze that produces a range of lovely colors in temperatures of around 2200 degrees. The basket was thrown and altered, the handles and the monkey were handsculpted. The buffalos are bas relief sculptures in which I textured a slab of clay, attached it to the basket bottom, and carved out the buffalo. I then pulled out the sidewalls of the basket to give the buffalo visual interest. The back side of the basket has textures that were altered by pulling out the lines to give emphasis.This basket can hold candies, grapes, cherries, or can serve as a planter indoors or outdoors. This monkey buffalo sculpted and thrown basket would make a lovely gift for any special person in your life!
