1690-1720 Dutch Pewter authentic Trefid Spoon with Rattail (Marked for Amsterdam)

A rare 1690-1720 pewter trefid tablespoon with a rattail and embossed with a heart on the terminal. This spoon has all the classic characteristics and is marked with the XXX Amsterdam mark at the back though a maker mark was not noted. Condition is fair with a lot of honest wear including a deep near black patina, dents, bends, and scratches. Nonetheless, an exceedingly scarce example with a city mark. Ex-collection of the late Alison Barker, a retired London barrister. Just an excellent historic example.

Pewter of this era probably has a high lead content (not recommended for use).
