Antique French Lace Trim, authentic 9" Deep Lace for Valance Blanket, French Textiles, Sewing Project

Such an amazing large piece of hand crocheted lace to embellish a window, tablecloth trim, upholstery project or your own creation!

The 9" deep lace is hand stitched onto a 3/4" vintage cotton band that has the male half of brass snaps where it must have been attached to "something".
A perfect way to save and use again. There are red hand sewn stitches in a cross which would indicate the center. Maybe it was attached to the top of a curtain valence, or at the hem. Or on a mantle pelmet ? If only it could tell us of it's previous lives!

I found this in France as is. I have not laundered it as you might prefer this aged color, it might lighten with some long soaking.
It is clean and sturdy. I have not found any holes or tears. a few age stains on the inside of the cotton band.

It measures 32" long and each end is finished, not just seamed or turned under.
