Vtg authentic Mopa Mopa Colombian Folk Art Trinket Jewelr Box Barniz de Pasto Mopa-Mopa Varnish Aruba Tribal Art Lacquered Tropical Bird Flower

Made by the Pasto people in Colombia for centuries, this Mopa Mopa folk art piece was purchased in Aruba by the last owner and includes a little informational leaflet inside. The artist's name Ever Narvex is hand written on the leaflet. The amazing work covered the entire surface of the box and boasts lush flowers and geometric designs along with a bug grey tropical bird on one side. It's nicely shaped and has a unique and interesting look.

This is one of the most beautiful trinket and treasure boxes I've seen in quite some time. The fitted box has a tray that can be removed to hide your stash of jewels or whatever you wish inside.

In good preowned vintage used condition, the box shows some ware and separation of the resin on the edges of the lid and it's slightly loose from age and use. There is a little wear also to the edges as well. There's no actual damage or repair; just the apologies mentioned here.

I'm selling it as found and as is, due to the slight crack/separation of the varnish on the lid. It is not very noticeable in my opinion and does not detract from the beauty of this box.
