Midcentury 4-piece Castleton Lotus pattern flat cream soup bowls with side handles. Dishes are decorated with a green and reddish authentic rust-brown lotus flower with green leaves on the interior, and smaller illustrations of buds and leaves on the outer sides. Lip, base and handles have a thin gold accent stripe.

Castleton China is the result of a partnership formed between Rosenthal China of Germany and Shenango Pottery of New Castle, Pennsylvania, during WW II. This enabled Rosenthal to produce china and remain in business during the war. Castleton was also known for its role in producing exquisite Presidential china. After WW II, Shenango Pottery bought out the Rosenthal partnership and continued the Castleton line.
