One extraordinary Antique French Art Nouveau very large Floral Appliqué

This is jaw dropping gorgeous

Embroidered with 100% Silk and Metallic threads in classic Art Nouveau muted shades (compared to the vivid shades used during the Art Deco period) Very rare remarkable example of the classic French floral stylistic motifs of this period and an excellent Collector piece.

Made in France ca. 1890-1910

Description/Colors of this Appliqué:

Appliqué is a very rounded authentic triangle shape comprised of three floral sections with a flowing array of swirls and natural vegetative forms.

Colors and materials:

Entire outer border in Dark Green Metallic (very unusual) embroidered thread forms a leaf pattern. Inside Silver Metallic thread embroidery weaves an undulating branch pattern surrounding the florals

Muted Tangerine, Yellow, Pale and Royal Blue make up the three Flowers and remainder of the curved design

Black Silk chain stitching outlines every detail as well as the Green Metallic Border

Backed with buckram net

Condition:

Piece has two original French shop tags still attached

No odors/ smoke free

There are two minor areas of spaces of missing thread. One barely noticeable in the Tangerine Silk and the other in the Silver Metallic. These do not detract to overall appearance. Possible weaving defects at time of manufacture otherwise deterioration due to age.

Piece is unused as are all the hundreds of appliqués I purchased from the same collection.
