*Anhui Turquoise Beaded Bracelet*

This piece contains high grade, smooth, round rondelle, well polished 5 mm to 6 mm natural bright green Turquoise (origin: Anhui) chips strung on elastic stretch cord for increased strength and durability. This particular Turquoise strand set is stabilized, a necessary and accepted method to preserve the Turquoises' natural color and enhance hardness without altering the original Turquoise properties, color, or appearance. No dye or color enhancement has been used for these Turquoise beads. Natural unstabilized Turquoises' vibrant blue colors can fade over time especially when exposed to light, body oil, perfume, detergent and other chemicals, turning into a greenish color with age, so many buyers and collectors will prefer to have stabilized Turquoise. The stone pieces in this bracelet are hand picked to ensure the best quality.

Sizing instructions:
• Measurement is based on inches.
• Measure your wrist size by wrapping tape measure or thread around desired area of your wrist and measure against a ruler. This is your actual wrist size.
• Our size is based on total bead length and NOT actual wrist size.
• For this reason, we recommend selecting a size that is your wrist size + 1/4" to 1/2" (this will fit snug onto wrist. if you prefer a looser fit, add 3/4" to 1 inch).
• For bead diameters larger than 10mm, we recommend your wrist size + 3/4" to 1 inch.

Please allow for slight blemishes, minor variations and natural flaws. Photos capture color and appearance under natural sunlight and can differ with indoor or artificial light.

Features of this bracelet: High quality gemstones, simple, minimalist, uniform, and of course stackable!

Original piece shown in photography may be sold out or unavailable. We will recreate your bracelet using the same type of stone, size and quality as depicted in the original piece. While we will do our best to be precise and consistent to the original photography, some beads have unique design, pattern and coloration, so slight variation should be expected.

Turquoise is an opaque blue to green mineral that is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum. The color range is incredible and varies from green, greenish blues to sky blue shades. For centuries, Turquoise has been used for jewelry and valuable ornaments and was used by the ancient Egyptians thousands of years ago. The Aztecs mined Turquoise in areas now known as New Mexico, and a significant amount of Turquoise comes from Nevada, Arizona, and California. Turquoise was used as a sacred stone by many Native American tribes. Turquoise is said to have protective and healing properties. Turquoise attracts wealth, success and love. Turquoise strengthens and empowers the mind and body, gathers hope and courage, as well as offering ease and calm to the mind and nerves.

Chinese Turquoise has become the most widely used Turquoise in the world. Evidence of turquoise use in China dates to as far back as 1700 BC, and although some Turquoise was mined in China in ancient times, more commonly it was acquired in trade with authentic Persians, Mongols and Turks. Hubei Turquoise is extracted from the Hubei mine located in the Hubei Province of central China which has been the most prolific mine in Asia with Turquoise qualities ranging from very soft to hard material, and colors ranging from spring green to an attractive sky blue with dark veined matrix (spider web pattern) that could be considered some of the world's finest Turquoise. Two of the finest mines in the Hubei province, Yungai (Cloud Mountain, which is now closed) and Zhuxi (Bamboo Mountain) produces natural Turquoise that is equal to a number of the finer Nevada mines that are now closed including Nevada Blue, Number 8, Blue Ridge, and the famous Lander Blue. Chinese Turquoise from mines in China account for 80% of the stone on the U.S. market today due to scarcity of American Turquoise and influx of Chinese selling. Chinese Turquoise is similar to American Turquoise in every way in that the mines produce Turquoise in almost every color, quality and matrix variation.

Thread preference:
• Stretch floss is made up of multiple strands of stretch material woven together and can provide incredible stretch and recoil, while being less likely to permanently stretch out. It is not as strong as elastic cord, and frequently worn bracelets using stretch floss will generally need to be restrung at least once a year.
• Elastic cord is a transparent, singular, rubbery thread that is stronger than stretch floss but does not have as much stretch and recoil potential, making it more prone to breakage and permanently losing its elasticity when stretched to its limit. Elastic cord offers strength, durability and longevity, while stretch floss provides versatility and pliancy.
• It is recommended to restring bracelets at least every 1-2 years to maintain strength and elasticity.

Enjoy your bracelet!
