Soot authentic

The Process:
I fell in love with the simplicity and subtlety of ink on paper long ago. These recent pieces are inspired by nature, and things I come across on walks in the woods, and also a three month long trip to Ireland and Wales. I love this process, for it has a great mix of authentic control and the lack thereof. I use water, India ink, and soap to create intimate forms, reminiscent of small offerings, nests, or three dimensional tunnel-like forms. The display I choose for these pieces is one that I feel best balances the delicacy of the forms, but they are also available framed in a more traditional way, (island floated in matting under glass). These pieces look beautiful as a shelf item, or hanging on the wall, especially in groups of three.
