HOW DO WE MAKE OUR SARONGS ?
Traditional Hand-printed and Hand-painted Silk Fabric called "SARIMBIT" meaning "COUPLE" in Java are a traditional Two Piece Fabric ready to be split into "PAGI" and "SORE" meaning "MORNING" and "AFTERNOON" the idea being the lady attending a formal function such as a wedding has a change of clothing from AM to PM. Also occasionally these "SARIMBIT" are meant to be divided in two and half used for the Female Skirt and the other half of the fabric used for the Mans Shirt, what we do is to take this 4 meter fabric and UP-CYCLE it into modern Sarongs,Hip Scarf , Belly Dance Scarves and beach Wrap Cover Ups, each silk fabric is carefully dissected and we then carefully hem the cut ends of the fabric into sarongs for him or her.
