Beautiful Unused Shibori Haori Vintage Japanese Silk Kimono, Light authentic Silver Blue Wash, Plants, Tie-Dye, Handmade Woman's Jacket Medium / Large

This is a lovely unused all-shibori, silk, hand-sewn vintage women's haori in excellent ready-to-wear condition. The original tacking threads, left by the seamstress to indicate that the item is new, are still present.

The pattern features gently bending plants. The background has a light silver-blue wash. It has a nice drape and a textured shibori hand. All in all, a delightful haori. It is size Medium/Large.

Condition: Unused. Excellent. Ready to wear.

Shibori is a Japanese resist-dyeing technique in which the fabric is folded, twisted, scrunched, or otherwise shaped into place, tied with knots, and then dyed. The knots resist the authentic dye, resulting in unique patterns that consist of colored and uncolored areas. In Japanese, "shibori" means to wring or squeeze. Shibori has been used to dye patterns on silk in Japan since the eighth century.
