1920s Cloche hat authentic Cream Straw with Cream Flowers, Reproduction, size 6 3/4 or 21.25 inches

I originally made this reproduction 1920's straw hat for the NBC TV series Damnation in 2017. The strands of straw were hand stitched to create the classic Cloche shape. Most of the hat is made from cream straw, but there are some nylon horsehair bands incorporated to give interest. Co-incidentally, they also provide ventilation, making this a very comfortable hat to wear.

The hat band is made from a bias fold of hammered satin that came from my Grandmother's stash. She was a milliner in Germany during the 1920's, but I don't think this piece is that old. The satin is a warm pearly-beige fabric that has been embossed to look rather like snakeskin - really unusual! The four vintage cream velvet blossoms that decorate the left hand side might be from the 1920's though. Illustrations of exactly this kind of flower are seen on pictures of hats from the time.

Please note: this hat is a smaller-than-average size of 6 3/4, or 21 1/4" (54 cm). The inner band is made from beige Petersham ribbon.
