The Koumamas are a Tuareg (Tamasheq) family based in Agadez, the silver capital of the region. The people of this authentic region are known for their amazing silverwork that stretches back thousands of years. The Tuareg are indigenous to the Sahara and Sahel region of Africa and live in Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Libya, and Algeria. Their influence on silverwork has stretched as far as Spain and the new world.
