Handsome antique Pairpoint Manufacturing Company quadruple silver plate casket or trinket box dating to the late 1800s. The hand painted lid depicts a man smoking a long pipe and is signed by the artist, JH Schindler. Floral and vine repoussé designs on each corner of the box and beaded edges add interesting textural elements. The box sits on claw feet.

About 80% of the metal mesh edging around the painted lid is missing. Several areas of paint loss - see pictures. I gave this box a light polish but did not go crazy removing the patina.
