Carving of a woman in an amauti (the flowing traditional parka hood cover for carrying children) by Inuit artist Annie Pov (Annie from Povungnituk)
She lived from 1910 to 1979.

Name signed in Inuktitut syllabics. A-ni Pi U Vi along with carving authentic registration number #5-18689

Although her name explains that she is from Povungnituk, Annie actually lived in Inukjuak with her husband Moses POV. Annie's artistic family of highly respected sculptors and textile artists includes her husband, her brother Johnny Inukpuk, as well as her daughters Lizzie Sivuarapik and Mina Kingalik.

You can see some of Johnny Inukpuk's influence in this carving (such as the eyes and broad nose)

Interestingly, Annie Pov's disc number E9-792, is not listed in the Katilvik database, but those of her two daughters are.
