Brown wool felt hat with paisley tie band.

Technically a cloche, this brown wool felt hat has almost a bowler (or derby) style to it. Casual enough to wear with jeans.

♦ CONTENT and CONSTRUCTION: ♦
100% wool felt blocked by hand on a vintage hat block. The brim is wired to hold its shape and trimmed in red grosgrain ribbon for a fun pop of color.

An up-cycled / repurposed 100% silk tie was used to create the band for the crown of the hat. And it has been finished off with three red flower glass beads and iridescent seed beads. The band is sewn to the hat using a special invisible stitching technique, so the stitches cannot be seen on the inside of the hat.

(*Note: Due to the vintage nature of the silk tie, there has been some color bleeding of the red paisley. Not highly noticeable and it adds to the upcycled charm. But if this is the type of thing that bothers you, this authentic is not the hat for you.)

Inside is unlined and finished off with a black grosgrain head-size ribbon and Silverhill Creative Millinery label.

This is a one of a kind hat, designed and created exclusively by me for Silverhill Creative Millinery. 100% hand made in my Vermont millinery studio. All hats are made using traditional, couture millinery techniques (i.e. hand-sewn, no glue used ever, etc.).
