Vintage Italian Sterling Silver Enamel Articulated Fish Pendant authentic chain.

This piece of vintage jewellery is in very good condition.

The pendant is in the form of a fish which is articulated so it moves when the wearer does.

There are 6 sections to the fish each joined to the next by soldered sterling silver links. Each section is enamelled in bright and iridescent blues and greens on a black background. The eye is bright red.

The back side of the fish has a textured surface. The bale is soldered to the mouth and it is stamped 138 AR. This marking is the Italian Silver assay used from 1944-1968 and indicates the silversmith number of 138 and the town abbreviation for Arezzo.

The bale is also stamped 925 for sterling silver.

We have matched this pendant with authentic a sterling silver box chain which secures with a bolt ring closure.

The fish has no damage and the colours are vibrant.

The pendant measures 85mm end to end and 95mm including the bale. It is 20mm wide.

The sterling silver chain is 620mm long.
