Product code: Brassy Mid-Century Hollywood Regency Syroco Pheasant Figures AND authentic Brass Fan
In the decades of its heyday, roughly from the 1920s to the 1970s, the Syracuse Ornamental Company of upstate New York manufactured affordable, decorative objects in the style we now call Hollywood Regency. Syroco's founder, Adolph Holstein, came up with a way of mimicking hand-carved wood with a mixture of wood pulp and binding agents that could then be molded for mass production. There are many singles and pairs of these spectacular, stylized pheasants on the market. A few features make this particular pair noteworthy, beginning with their outstanding condition--they were kept in a curio cabinet for most all of their lives requiring no dusting resulting in a flawless finish. You will not find a shinier pair. Both birds come with their original authentic company label and felt covering on the base. I'm throwing in the brass fan (which is another outstanding example) for free. It usually sells for $15 to $20 by itself. Heck, even the shipping is on me! Enjoy!.
