Danburite is a rare gemstone that has finally begun to increase in popularity. Because of its beautiful luster and hardness it has great gem properties is a suitable stone even for ring usage. It has only one "flaw": it is almost always colorless. For a few years it was used as a diamond simulant, but after the development of a number of synthetics (including cubic zirconia) it was neglected even for that purpose. Thankfully in recent years it has begun to gain popularity again, especially its beautiful and durable crystals.
